Chapter One: The Magic of Self-Organisation.
***
Evolution created humans and humans created civilisations and at last humans made civilisations vanish into the soil leaving behind their respective stories of constant battle of the forces between centralization and decentralization... and becoming parts our global human history. There were approximately 200 of them. They are all destroyed.
So what can the rise, and fall of historic civilisations, tell us about our own? What are the forces, that precipitate or delay a collapse? Furthermore, do we see similar patterns today?

Chapter Two: Then Creativity Made The West
***
Great civilisations are rarely murdered. Instead, they mostly take their own lives through a process of over institutionalization imposed from the top.
As this happens, their citizens lose motivation to fight for the project, just as well as the social system becomes so inflexible and thus fragile, that it cannot respond appropriately to challenges. The story of the Roman Empire is a great example of an empire weighted down by its own inflexibilities.
This film gives you a perspective of civilisations that come to Earth and fall into dust. To prevent this fall here and now, humanity has profound decisions to make. Some to be taken collectively, others individually.
Even if one decries Western civilization and wants to change it, there’s no denying of the enormous effect it has had on the human prospect.
